《安德鲁的大脑》中的三重对话与后现代性

内容提要:在美国作家E. L. 多克托罗的小说《安德鲁的大脑》中,人物之间的对话行为构成了主要叙事线。评论界大多采用心理分析视角,将对话理解为主人公安德鲁治愈创伤的手段,而忽视了其哲学和美学内涵。如果将小说置于巴赫金对话理论框架之下,会发现它存在着三个层面的对话,分别是“人物间的对话”、“文学文本间的对话”和“文学与媒介文化的对话”。多克托罗通过“对话”来实现越界,构建出一部与“9·11”官方叙事相对抗的“反叙事”,体现了反主体、反本质和去中心化等后现代主义基本命题,同时也表达了他对个体普遍生存状态、他者声音和差异性知识的关注。

Title: Three Dialogic Levels and Postmodernity in Andrew’s Brain

ABSTRACT: The dialogical behavior between characters constitutes the main narrative line in Andrew’s Brain, a novel by American writer E. L. Doctorow. Most critics have perceived the use of dialogue in the novel from the psychoanalytical perspective, as the way to cure the trauma of Andrew the protagonist, while ignoring its philosophical and aesthetic connotations. Making use of Bakhtin’s dialogism, we can find three dialogic levels in the novel, namely “the dialogue between characters,” “the dialogue between literary texts” and “the dialogue between literature and media culture.” Doctorow, using dialogic methods to transgress boundaries, constructs an “anti-narrative” in contrast to theofficial narratives of “9/11”, which reflects the typical postmodern suspicion of subjectivity and essentialism, and a bent for decentralization. The anti-narrative conveys Doctorow’s concern for the universal condition of being, the voice of the Other and alternative knowledge.

试论厄德里克小说《拉罗斯》中疾病的隐喻

内容提要: 《拉罗斯》关注了白人殖民者的流行病大屠杀、垃圾帝国主义和父权制的入侵对印第安人的戕害,延续了厄德里克以往作品的批判精神和历史思考。本文从疾病隐喻的角度切入,展现了殖民者以肺结核作为生物武器对印第安族群的湮灭,战争创伤、核污染和饮食殖民对印第安人身心的破坏作用,以及女性疯癫者对印第安“母系宇宙”倒塌的反抗。厄德里克透过肺结核、残障和疯癫的疾病隐喻,撬动了深嵌于美国文化中的意识形态力量,在历史与现代的错综并置中,展现了作家的政治视野、历史意识和文学思考。

Title: Disease as Metaphor in Louise Erdrich’s LaRose

ABSTRACT: Focusing on the epidemiological holocaust caused by the white colonists, garbage imperialism and the invasion of patriarchy that maimed the Native Americans, LaRose continues the critical spirit and historical reflection of Erdrich’s previous works. Taking the metaphor of disease as a starting point, this article explores the metaphorical meanings of tuberculosis, disability and madness in LaRose. This work reflects on the annihilation of indigenous populations by the use of tuberculosis as a biological weapon, the teratogenic effect of war trauma, nuclear contamination, the effects of the colonization of food culture on both indigenous bodies and minds, and female madnesas a revolt against the collapse of the indigenous feminine cosmogony. This article argues that, by endowing these diseases with metaphorical meanings, Erdrich leverages the ideological forces embedded in American culture to present her political wisdom, historical consciousness and literary reflection in the intricate juxtaposition of historical and modern landscapes.

超越创伤:论科伦·麦凯恩《无极形》中的情感共同体

内容提要:爱尔兰裔美国作家科伦·麦凯恩的最新小说《无极形》聚焦巴以冲突,探讨战争语境下的创伤、哀悼与沟通共同体建构。小说围绕两个丧女家庭展开,揭示跨国哀悼团体“失子父母圈”以及民间反战组织“和平战士”在疗愈创伤、构建哀悼共同体并实现跨文化沟通的愿景。麦凯恩借助和平隐喻、沟通隐喻和图像叙事等手法,以文学虚构记录巴以冲突史,探讨如何用沟通对抗暴力,以团结对抗战争,展示人类命运共同体建构过程中哀悼与沟通的力量。

Title: Beyond Trauma: The Community of Empathy in Colum McCann’s Apeirogon

ABSTRACT: Irish American writer Colum McCann’s latest novel Apeirogon focuses on the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts, discussing trauma, mourning and communicative community in the context of regional crises. The novel revolves around two bereaved families, revealing a vision of the role played by the transnational mourning group “the Parents Circle” and the anti-war civil organization “Combatants for Peace” in healing trauma and building a mourning community to achieve peace and communication. Employing the themes of peace and communication, and making use of image narratives, McCann discusses the significance of a communicative community in fighting against war and violence, records the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflicts via fiction, and reveals the power of mourning and communication in building a community with a shared future for human beings.

《印第安杀手》中的犯罪种族想象与印第安性超越

内容提要:谢尔曼·阿莱克西的小说《印第安杀手》通过一起神秘的连环杀人案来审视犯罪和种族之间的关系。这部作品以侦探小说的形式揭露了追踪无名杀手身份过程中呈现出的话语模式与权力关系,表明所谓的“印第安杀手”只是美国主流社会对印第安人带有偏见的种族想象。故事结束时杀手身份依然成谜,此情节设置颠覆了白人对印第安人的狭隘想象,也激发了印第安人对刻板身份符号的质疑。小说还立足于时代,对印第安保守主义思想进行了反驳,表达了对封闭印第安性的超越,并对如何审视族裔性进行了积极探索。

Title: The Imaginative Crime of Race and Transcendence of Indianness in Indian Killer

ABSTRACT: Indian Killer by Sherman Alexie examines the relationship between crime and race through a series of mysterious killing events. In the form of a detective novel, this work uncovers discursive patterns and power relationships in the process of tracking the identity of the unknown killer, indicating that the so-called “Indian killer” is just a product of the racial imagination of American mainstream society, characterized by prejudice against the Indians. At the end of the story, the identity of the killer is still a mystery. This plot subverts the white people’s narrow imagination of the Indians, and inspires the Indians to question the stereotypical symbol of their identity. Rooted in the social context of contemporary America, the novel also refutes Indian conservatism and attempts to seek a solution to closed ethnicity.

从伦理视角看《加拉帕戈斯群岛》中的共同体书写

内容提要:库尔特·冯内古特在《加拉帕戈斯群岛》中以幽灵叙述者莱昂的视角讲述了“旧”人类遭遇的生态失衡、经济危机、战争和瘟疫等共同体危机,以及“新”人类在恶劣的环境中通过二次进化在“新”共同体中与其他有机体和谐共生的故事。冯内古特从多角度刻画了“新”与“旧”人类共同体中不同的社群结构、生存模式甚至是人的生理构造,他的后人类共同体想象淋漓尽致地展现了从伦理视角对当今人类社会发展及未来前景的自省式思考,揭示了人类应承担伦理责任、遵循自然法则、回归生态本位。

Title: Community in Galápagos from an Ethical Perspective

ABSTRACT: In Kurt Vonnegut’s Galápagos, Leon, a ghost narrator, relates a story about ecological imbalance, economic recession and the wars and plagues that befell the “old” human beings, and he introduces readers to the “new” human beings who, through de-evolution in the harsh environment, live in harmony with other creatures in a “new” community. Vonnegut elaborates on the distinctly different structures and the survival modes of the “new” and “old” human communities, as well as the different physical structures and reproductive modes of future human beings. His unique imagination of the post-human community deepens our ethical introspection on the crises of human society today and society’s future development. He also urges human beings to cultivate an awareness of “the community of life,” attach importance to ethical progress, follow the laws of nature, and restore natural ecology.

论《暮光之城》粉丝小说女主人公的情动

流变和身体重塑

内容提要:身为“文本盗猎者”,女性粉丝们既热爱商业言情小说,又对特定文本持排斥态度,创作的粉丝小说由此“产生了自己的意义”。本文结合斯宾诺莎、德勒兹、马苏米、塞奇维克等人的“情动”观点,将情感形式与身体的感触经验相联系,从叙述视角、皮肤感触和主体意识三个维度,对比获得商业成功的言情小说《暮光之城》及在粉丝网站上发布的最受欢迎粉丝小说《祝福与诅咒》,分析两部小说中的同名女主人公贝拉,发现二者在情动流变方向、情动阈限强度和存在之力质变三个方面存在的差异,以阐明情动对年轻女性的主体意识建构产生的影响,为更好理解互联网语境下草根粉丝的日常生活图景和价值取向提供新的思路。

Title: On Variations of Affect and the Heroine’s Reconstruction of Body in The Twilight Saga and Fanfiction

ABSTRACT: As “textual poachers”, female fans love commercial romance but at the same time can feel unsatisfied with specific texts, which drives them to create their own fanfiction. Combining the “affect” perspectives of Spinoza, Deleuze, Massumi and Sedgwick, this article connects sensational forms with bodily experiences, comparing the two heroines, both named Bella, in the commercially successful novel series The Twilight Saga and its most popular fanfiction The Blessing and the Curse, published on a fan site. Focusing on three dimensions, i.e., narrative perspective, skin manifestation and subjectivity, the article analyzes the differences between the two heroines in terms of affect variations and intensity of affect. By elucidating the influence of affect and physical sensations on the construction of the young heroines’ subjectivity, it attempts to provide a new perspective forbetter understanding the daily life and values of grassroots fans on the Internet.

《身体》中的意索政治与生命政治

内容提要:英国南亚裔小说家哈尼夫·库雷西的中篇小说《身体》讲述了一个花甲之年的戏剧家更换年轻身体的故事,呈现了生物科技时代生物技术、资本主义和生命权力紧密交织下的生命政治图景。生物技术与资本主义勾连共谋的背景下,生命被商品化,作为生物公民的个人承担自我生命管理的责任,利用自我技术实现对生命的管理,生命政治转向意索政治。生命政治时代,人人都处于赤裸生命的状态,面临沦为神圣人的不可控命运。生物技术语境下产生的不平等生物公民权导致了新的社会不平等。生物技术的发展与应用也会打开潘朵拉的盒子,如何防范与管理生物科技带来的风险与灾难成为亟待解决的问题。

Title: Ethopolitics and Biopolitics in The Body

ABSRACT: South Asian British novelist Hanif Kureishi’s novella The Body tells the story of a playwright in his sixties undergoing an operation to adopt a young body, thus presenting a biopolitical picture of the relationship between capitalism and biopower in the biotechnological age. Against a backdrop of connection and collusion between biotechnology and capitalism, life is commodified and the individual as the biological citizen undertakes the responsibility of the self-management of life by using self-technique. Thus, biopolitics turns into ethopolitics. In the biopolitical age, everyone is in a state of bare life and faces the uncontrollable fate of being reduced to the homo sacer. The unequal biological citizenship in the biotechnological circumstances begets new social inequalities. The development and application of biotechnology opens Pandora’s box, and how to preempt and manage the risks and hazards brought by biotechnology becomes an urgent issue.

内容提要:本文对伊恩·麦克尤恩的长篇小说《星期六》中的“经济人”形象和“废弃生命”形象,以及两种人物形象的冲突和该冲突的隐喻功能等进行了考察,认为作者通过“经济人”形象揭露和批判了新自由主义治理术的弊端以及随之而来的犬儒主义,并通过“经济人”与“废弃生命”的冲突,隐喻和揭露了新自由主义竞争机制和资本运作下恐怖主义产生的内在逻辑。

Title: The Neoliberal Dilemma in the Post-9/11 Novel Saturday

ABSTRACT: This essay investigates the “economic man” and the “abandoned life” in Ian McEwan’s novel Saturday, focusing on the conflict between the two characters and its metaphorical meanings. The essay maintains that the author reveals and critiques the shortcomings of neoliberal governance and consequent public cynicism through the image of the “economic man,” while exposing, through analyzing the conflict between neoliberal competition and capital operation, the intrinsic logic of the rise of terrorism.

 —佩列文小说中的身份认同危机

内容提要:自古以来,东西方问题是贯穿于俄罗斯历史的一条红线。横跨亚欧大陆的地理位置,彼得大帝西化改革和蒙古—鞑靼统治等历史事件赋予了俄罗斯浓厚的东西方双重文化烙印,使之有如一只同时向东西方张望的双头鹰,身份认同问题一直积淀在俄罗斯民族的集体无意识中。自20世纪末苏联解体以来,俄罗斯社会风云突变,进入了洛特曼所言的“文化大爆炸”时刻,即文化体系发生了180度逆转。由东西方发展道路取向问题所引发的个体乃至国家的身份认同危机在当代俄罗斯著名后现代主义作家佩列文的小说中得到了充分体现。在作家笔下,许多俄罗斯主人公对于转型时期的社会巨变感到措手不及,从而产生“我是谁”“我在哪里”的存在焦虑,他们在不同文化符号域中来回穿梭,却始终找不到适合自己的位置,时时面临“在世之难”的困境,具有典型的当代“多余人”和“小人物”的特点。因此,他们想要通过选择姓名、着装和职业等具有符号意义的日常行为方式来完成多元化身份建构,以消解身份认同的困惑、焦虑与危机。

Title: Exploring the Border: Identity Crisis in V. Pelevin’s Novels

ABSTRACT: The East-West question has been a red thread throughout Russian history. Russia’s geographical location across Asia and Europe, the westernization reforms of Peter the Great, and the period of Mongol-Tatar rule, have given Russia a cultural duality that makes it resemble a two-headed eagle simultaneously looking towards the East and the West. The problem of identity has always lingered in the collective unconsciousness of the Russian nation. Since the collapse of the Soviet Union at the end of the 20th century, Russian society has undergone sudden changes, entering what Lotman calls the “cultural explosion” moment, when the cultural system took a 180-degree turn. The crisis of individual and national identity caused by Russia’s forward path between East and West is fully reflected in the novels by Russian postmodernist writer Victor Pelevin. Many of his Russian characters are overwhelmed by the dramatic social transformations during the transition period, feeling existential anxiety about “who I am” and “where I am.” They constantly face the “difficulty of being alive” and have the characteristics of contemporary “redundant men” and “little men.” In order to solve the confusion, anxiety and crisis of identity, they attempt to construct and navigate diverse identities through a variety of symbolic daily behaviors including choosing names, dresses and professions.

马里亚斯短篇小说中幽灵形象的主体性建构

内容提要:幽灵作为西班牙作家马里亚斯十分偏爱的形象,集中表达了马里亚斯对于生命与时间问题的哲学思考。作家尤其在其短篇小说中塑造了诸多幽灵形象,超越了生与死的生命形态、主客体的界限与线性时间法则,为透视人的生存境况提供了超验性视角,并以其特有的生存“间性”成为抵抗主体性危机的积极因素。马里亚斯通过幽灵形象的塑造回应了后现代语境中对死亡、他者、时间等概念的探讨,赋予幽灵形象以主体性建构的积极力量。

Title: Constructing Subjectivity: Ghost Imagery in Marías’s Short Stories

ABSTRACT: Favored by Javier Marías, ghost imagery is a concentrated expression of the Spanish writer’s philosophical thinking on life and time. In his short stories in particular, ghosts tend to transcend the division between life and death, the boundary between subject and object and the linear laws of time. With their unique existential “betweenness,” they provide a transcendental perspective on human existence and become an active factor in dealing with the crisis of subjectivity. Marías’s ghost imagery responds to the postmodern discussion of such concepts as death, otherness and time, recognizing ghosts as a positive power in constructing subjectivity.

边缘 、对抗与渴望:

马来西亚华裔英语作家文化身份构建研究

内容提要:马来西亚华裔英语作家流散时间久远、创作身份独特,但学界尚未对其展开整体研究。选取林玉玲等六位作家的作品,考察作家与侨居国、西方及祖籍国的关系对其文化身份构建产生的影响。研究发现,马来西亚华裔英语作家对侨居国有很深的感情牵绊,也因此激烈地批判侨居国对本族裔的边缘化;他们接受英语教育、用英语创作,但马来西亚的殖民经历又使其有意识地对抗西方文化的优越性,体现出作家的主体性;他们因缺失而产生对中华文化的渴望,而且中华民族文化资本依然可以为其在困境中提供精神支持。穿行于三种文化间使其身份体现出的高度杂糅性,因此,探索流散族裔文化身份时,研究者要看到流散经历带来的变化,也要重视根文化的滋养作用。

Title: Marginalization, Resistance and Desire: On the Cultural Identity Construction of Malaysian-Chinese Anglophone Writers

ABSTRACT: The ancestors of Malaysian-Chinese Anglophone writers arrived in Malaysia generations ago, which endows these writers with a unique background that still awaits systematic research. Discussing works by six writers, including Shirley Geok-lin Lim, this article analyzes their relationships with the host country, western society and their ancestral country to understand how such relationships influence the construction of their cultural identity. The study argues that the writers strongly criticize the marginalization of the Chinese ethnic group in Malaysia, for they have a deep attachment to the host land. Although having received an English education and preferring to write in English, they consciously resist the superiority of western culture because of Malaysia’s colonial history, manifesting their subjectivity as writers. They desire to learn about Chinese culture, whose cultural capital can still provide spiritual support when they are in distress. The three cultures have contributed to their hybrid identity. Therefore, when studying the cultural identity of the diasporic community, researchers should note the changes generated by diasporic experiences as well as the nourishment drawn from the ancestral culture.

内容提要:尽管海明威的非虚构作品《死在午后》和长篇小说《丧钟为谁而鸣》的文坛声誉迥然不同,二者在文艺思想上却有着潜在的关联性。《死在午后》是一部在斗牛叙事中蕴涵着丰富文艺思想的斗牛专著。其中的文艺思想直接预示着《丧钟为谁而鸣》的形成,可以看作是《丧钟为谁而鸣》文艺思想的来源书。本文从海明威的文艺思想和审美追求视角出发,将《死在午后》和《丧钟为谁而鸣》的创作过程视为一种一脉相承的创作实践,并从直面死亡的真实情感、“如何观看”的叙事焦点、相得益彰的文本结构以及异曲同工的人物刻画四个方面详细阐明后者是对前者文艺思想的继承和发展,旨在揭示两部作品中长期被学术界忽视的关联性,为海明威文艺思想研究提供一种新的视角。

Title: Death in the Afternoon: A Source Book of Literary Thought

ABSTRACT: Though the critical reputations of Hemingway’s non-fiction Death in the Afternoon and his novel For Whom the Bell Tolls are sharply different, they are closely connected by their literary thought. Death in the Afternoon conveys rich literary thought under the surface of a bullfighting narrative, predicting the coming of For Whom the Bell Tolls. In this sense, the non-fictional work serves as a source book of literary thought for the novel. Focusing on Hemingway’s literary thought and his aesthetic claims, the present article argues that For Whom the Bell Tolls draws on the literary thought contained in Death in the Afternoon. It aims to establish connections between the two books which have long been neglected, and to refresh the study of Hemingway’s literary thought.

Title: On the Integration of Narrative Modes and Jewish Motifs in Herzog

ABSTRACT: Saul Bellow, a Jewish-American writer attaching much importance to Jewish values and tradition, was keen on combining literary form with cultural connotation. His masterpiece Herzog addresses such Jewish motifs as suffering, exile, sin and salvation, which are related to Jewish history, Judaism, ethics and morality. With its circular and U-shaped narrative modes, the novel has a perfect narrative layout that is comic, uniquely Jewish and strongly moral. Bellow’s literary writings successfully inherit the Jewish culture based on the Hebrew Bible, which has made him a hall-of-fame Jewish fiction writer.

Title: Metaphor, Witness and Introspection: The Three Dimensions of Bob Dylan’s War Writing

ABSTRACT: Bob Dylan’s war writing in his lyrics features rich literary and cultural connotations. His works address war in three dimensions, i.e., political metaphor, the civil rights movement and philosophical introspection. His war writing is the key to understanding why and how he opposed warfare. With political metaphors, Bob Dylan indirectly reveals the essence of war. As a witness of the civil rights movement, his war writing also shows his sense of social responsibility. Moreover, Dylan’s complex religious background and philosophical introspection find a voice in his deep thinking and ambivalence about the war.

Title: Trauma and Healing: A Biographical Study of Disease Writing in Samuel Beckett’s Novels

ABSTRACT: As an Irish writer, Samuel Beckett depicts disease as an indispensable theme in his novels. Deeply influenced by Descartes and existentialist philosophers, Beckett attends to human trauma and pain in his novels and focuses on the marginalized at the bottom of society to reveal the disaster and misery suffered by the Irish people. In addition, Beckett demonstrates the healing power of literary creation. Externalizing the psychological impulses, frustrations and repressed emotions of his protagonists, his works redeem the pathological and destructive self in his personal life.

古尔纳《离别的记忆》中的阈限空间与身份危机

内容提要:2021年度诺贝尔文学奖得主古尔纳在其处女作《离别的记忆》中的阈限空间书写隐喻的是深刻的伦理主题。东非青年哈桑·奥马尔通过从肯格到内罗毕再回到家乡重新出发的空间转换,隐含着范热内普提出的“通过仪式”的分离、阈限与聚合三个阶段的过渡性进程。哈桑在家宅空间、都市空间以及心理空间等阈限空间面临的成长议题,实质上是为了突破伦理困境并建构伦理身份所进行的仪式活动。古尔纳以《离别的记忆》为起点,不断书写着家乡桑给巴尔的人民生活和国族命运,并反思多元文化背景下的非洲流散者的身份建构与文化认同问题。

Title: The Liminal Space and Identity Crisis in Gurnah’s Memory of Departure

ABSTRACT: The liminal space in Memory of Departure by Abdulrazak Gurnah, winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize in Literature, has a profound ethical meaning. Hassan Omar, a young East African man, travels from his hometown of Kenge to Nairobi and then back to his hometown. This spatial transition symbolizes the process of the rites of passage as proposed by Arnold van Gennep, from separation to liminality and then to aggregation. In essence, the growth projects of Hassan in the liminal space, including the domestic space, urban space and mental space, are the ritualized activities of breaking through an ethical dilemma and constructing ethical identity. Starting with Memory of Departure, Gurnah has written extensively about the life of the people in Zanzibar and the destiny of his motherland, reflecting on the identity construction of the African diasporas against a multicultural background.

内容提要:巴巴拉·约翰逊是美国解构主义理论发生“现实转向”的代表性人物。她承继保罗·德曼等人的解构主义语言和修辞观,将之与女性主义、族裔研究及文化批评融合,实践解构性的政治文化批判。“差异”是约翰逊质诘文本意义与文化政治统一性的核心概念,在语言层面指向的是能指符号的阈限性、随意性与神秘化,文本结构维度体现为不确定的句法、“言行”的矛盾、主题与事例的龃龉,女性主义文本中则演变成抵抗性自我差异的书写。约翰逊的解构批评力图突破语言—现实、形式—内容和谐统一的传统有机诗论,推敲文本意义产生的前提与方式而不止于意义本身。约翰逊倡导回归文本复杂精细的语言修辞和文法结构而非“理论先行”,注重体认文本的差异性和他异性,这些对重新省察解构主义及今日的文学批评究皆有特殊的意义。

Title: The Politics of Difference: On Barbara Johnson’s Deconstructive Rhetorical and Cultural Criticism

ABSTRACT: A representative figure in initiating deconstruction’s turn to reality, Barbara Johnson innovatively applies the de Mannian theory of language and rhetoric to her politico-cultural critique in the realms of feminism, minority studies and cultural criticism. “Difference” stands as the core concept in Johnson’s questioning of unification in texts and cultural politics. It signifies liminality, randomness and the mystery of language, syntactical undecidability, confliction between “doing and saying”, theme and evidence, and the writing of female differences in self-resistance. Johnson’s deconstructive criticism breaks down the traditional poetic unity between language and reality and form and content, focusing on how texts work rather than simply what they mean. By advocating a return to the intricate patterns and structures in language and texts over a perverse obsession with theory, and by focusing on textual difference and alterity, Johnson makes a timely contribution to the rethinking of both poststructuralism and literary studies today.

Title: The Making of the Canon: Harold Bloom’s Asian American Literary Criticism

ABSTRACT: By editing and commenting on Asian American literature through thirteen works published during his lifetime, Harold Bloom has promoted the canonization of Asian American literature. On the one hand, he synthetically criticized Asian American literature as a whole to construct an increasingly perfect framework of the Asian American literary canon; on the other hand, he focused on the study of individual Asian American writers and works to elect four Asian American writers as the quintessential canonical writers in the history of Asian American literature. Bloom’s Asian American literary criticism has not only promoted the local canonization of Asian American literature, but has also set an example for the world canonization of Asian American literature.

内容提要:玛姬·吉是当代英国最重要的作家之一。在其作品《雪归何处》中,吉生动地描绘了超越自我主义、尊重他者并为他者承担绝对责任的为他者的主体建构。主人公艾利克斯在欲望他者中超越自我主义,打破存在之总体性,走向无限与多元;在回应他者中质疑自我,消弭对他者的同一性暴力,真正担负起对他者的责任;在亲近他者中,不断袒露自身,忍耐痛苦和折磨,最终收获人之为人的意义。小说中所展现的为他者的主体建构对促进人的全面发展、维护社会和谐稳定有重要的启发意义。

Title: The Construction of the Subject-for-the-Other in Maggie Gee’s Where Are the Snows

ABSTRACT: In her work Where Are the Snows, contemporary British writer Maggie Gee vividly describes the construction of the Subject-for-the-Other who transcends egoism, respects the Other and takes on absolute responsibility for the Other. The desire for the Other leads Alex to transcend egoism, break totality and head towards infinity and pluralism. The response to the request of the Other causes self-doubt, the elimination of violence against the Other and the absolute responsibility for the Other. By exposing herself and enduring torment, she becomes closer to the Other and learns the true meaning of life. The construction of the Subject-for-the-Other is of great significance for promoting the all-round development of human beings and maintaining social harmony and stability.

瓦·拉斯普京小说中地方意识的建构与破坏

内容提要:地方意识是一种基于地方空间的情感意识和文化意识,既包含人对地方的心理情感依恋,也包含地方价值观对人的文化熏陶和精神雕塑。拉斯普京笔下的地方意识书写经历了从建立到破坏的过程:祖屋与河流、森林、草场、空气等组成了极具地域色彩的西伯利亚农村场域,凝聚了地方精神、家园意识、祖辈传统的文化根基,促进了地方意识的建构;但随着水、空气、森林和土地等自然资源的恶化和地方景观的破坏,地方意识日趋溃散,引发了个体身份和民族认同的危机。究其原因,在于全球化大背景下资本和技术对地方空间的渗透,以及俄罗斯在20世纪90年代发生的政治巨变和经济转型。对这个问题的关注体现了作家拉斯普京对重回俄罗斯文化之根、重塑俄罗斯民族之魂的精神渴望。

Title: Construction and Destruction of Local Consciousness in V. Rasputin’s Novels

ABSTRACT: Local consciousness is a kind of emotional and cultural consciousness based on local space, which includes not only individual “topophilia,” but also the cultural edification and spiritual sculpture of local values. Rasputin’s writing on local consciousness has gone through a process from construction to destruction — an ancestral house, rivers, forests, grasslands air and so on, constituting a typically regional Siberian rural field, embodying the local spirit, homeland consciousness, and the cultural foundation of ancestral traditions, and it promotes the construction of local consciousness. With the deterioration of the environment and the destruction of the local landscape, local consciousness has been eroded, which triggers the crisis of individual identity and national identity. The reasons are the penetration of capital and technology into local space in the context of globalization, and the political upheaval and economic transformation in Russia in the 1990s. The writer’s attention to this issue reflects his spiritual desire to return to the roots of Russian culture and rebuild the soul of the Russian nation.

内容提要:美国作家厄休拉·K·勒奎恩的创作涉及奇幻小说、科幻小说、散文、诗歌等多个领域,而《地海传奇》是她创作生涯中最具特色也最为知名的奇幻作品。在中国道家思想的浸润之下,《地海传奇》超越了西方奇幻小说二元对立的思维模式,以道家万物齐一、浑然相成的思维将小说内容整合到了一个全新的意义结构之中。《地海传奇》以少年少女的成长与冒险为主线,以充满道家文化色彩的“地海”世界为载体,书写了一场认知自我、体察万物进而获得超脱的寻道之旅,同时也反映出勒奎恩对“道”的感悟、思考与阐释。

Title: The Earthsea Cycle and Chinese Daoist Thought

ABSTRACT: The literary creation of Ursula K. Le Guin covers many fields such as fantasy, science fiction, prose, poetry and other genres, and the Earthsea Cycle is her most distinctive and well-known series of fantasy works. Under the influence of Chinese Daoist thought, Earthsea transcends the thinking mode of binary opposition in western fantasy novels and integrates the novel’s content into a new meaningful structure, applying the Daoist concept that everything is the same and complementary. Earthsea takes the growth and adventure of young boys and girls as the main plotline and the Daoist-inspired “Earthsea” as the key to understanding oneself, observing everything and becoming detached. The novel also reflects Le Guin’s understanding and interpretation of “Dao.”
